• Sun Damage

Sun Damage is unfortunately common here in sunny Southern California. First, you need to break up with the sun. That's right, time to dump that significant other. It was cute when your nose peeled when you were 18, but now that your skin looks like a cracked old piece of Adobe mud, you need to get over it. Then you can admit you need sunblock! We sometimes add a little tint - let's face it, you once looked good with a tan - but put on a sunblock every day. And every night, if your skin can tolerate it, use a Retin-A containing cream - literally the only anti-wrinkle cream out there that does anything. We like Retin-A in the form of Tri Luma Cream, which also has the bleaching product hydroquinone in it, which gets rid of the sun-damaged brown spots you undoubtedly have too. And now for the heavy lifting. At least three sessions of the Fraxel® laser will take years of cracked, sun-damaged skin off your face. These session are done at least three weeks apart - and you made need one or two more if your skin is more damaged. For those that are anti-Fraxel® (ok, it hurts a little), we love the peels, especially the new Vi Peel. It has low dose phenol in it which is like a knockout punch to the wrinkles and the sunny brown spots. This peel is deeper than the usual acid peel with better penetration and better results.
