• Broken Capillaries

Broken capillaries are - well - one of the more fun and easy problems to have. On your face, these capillaries are usually bright red and often around the nose. However, they can show up anywhere. A VBeam laser is made for this task, targeting the color red. We try to be gentle with this laser, so many patients need more than one treatment. If the capillary is treated too heavily the laser will rupture the vessel and cause a bruise (purpura) that most people would rather not have on their face. Now, leg capillaries, which are usually blue, blue-red, and purple in tone, are not as good for the VBeam laser, but instead respond beautifully to sclerotherapy. We find administering sclerotherapy very rewarding, as it is painless and immediately effective. Wear support hose two days after the injections to get the best result, and if your capillaries are numerous, expect to need more than one treatment, as well as a touch up for new vessels every one or two years. Take care of these issues before they get worse. Maintenance is crucial.
