Acne scars are treated depending on how deep the scar is. Superficial scars that look like small pock marks or skin irregularities are best treated by superficial resurfacing, such as a deep peel. The Fraxel^® laser or dermabrasion works well for medium depth scars. For deep "ice pick" scars, the treatment modalities are combined, and may include a filler, or even full thickness removal of the scar to completely excise the divot.
